Tashas Death

The first regular Star Trek character to be killed off Natasha "Tasha" Yar played by Denise Crosby in the first season of Star Trek: The Next Generation.  Lieutenant Yar had been chief of security and chief tactical officer on the USS Enterprise D until she was killed by a sentient pool of muck called Armus in the episode "Skin of Evil."

Jean - Luc Picard

Being one of the most celebrated and well respected officers, Picard had a career of over 50 years during the mid 24th century. Starting with the command of the USS Stargazer, which was followed by the commands of the Enterprise D and E, he witnessed and negotiated some of the hardest turning points in galactic history.  He made First  Contact with over twenty - seven species including the Borg and Ferengi. Under Picard, the Enterprise first met with the Q - Continuum. Picard also served as the Arbiter of Succession for Worf, while he was uncovering that Galion was compromised and adding the Romulans. He is the only captain who captained two different classes of Starships, Galaxy and Souvenir class.

Dr. Beverly Crusher

Dr. Beverly Crusher was originally concieved as a romantic interest for Captain Picard on Star Trek The Next Generation. When this tension was not immediately introduced into the show, Gates McFadden, who played Dr. Crusher,  became dismayed by the characters lack of development. McFadden was released from her contract, and replaced by Diana Muldaor as Dr. Kate Pulaski in the second season. When Muldour decided that she didn't enjoy filming a television series, McFadden was invited to return for the third season. --Star Trek Trivia Calender

Thomas Riker


In a transporter incident in 2361, Thomas Riker was formed. He is genetically identical to Will, which is a security threat to StarFleet, but never addressed in the series. He has the same personality and memories as Will up until 2361, that is.

Will was a lieutenant on the USS Potemkin when this happen. He was leading an excavation on Nervalla IV. The atmosphere had created a distortion field, which prevented the use of shuttle pods as well as transporter except once every eight years.

William Riker

William Thomas Riker is the first officer on the U.S.S. Enterprise-D. An unorthodox improvisational, and accomplished tactician Riker is notable for his enthusiastic loyalty and also for his willingness to disobey the chain of command when warranted. Called Number One by Picard, he enjoys the captain's full trust, and is well liked among the crew. Despite several offers to helm his own ship, Riker chose to remain first officer on the Enterprise until accepting command of the U.S.S. Titan in 2379. That same year, he marries Deanna Troi.

Jean-Luc Picard


Born July 13, 2305, La Barre, France, Earth

Played by Patrick Stewart, Jean- Luc Picard is an eminent Starfleet officer, diplomat, tactician, explorer, and archeologist, and is the captain of the U.S.S Enterprise-D, the Federation flagship. A decisive, intelligent, and honorable leader in every respect, Picard is at the crux of many of the Federations significant events of  his his era. He has initiated first contact with at least 27 species, incl7ding the Borg and Ferengi, and became the main diplomat to the Q Continuum. He plays a pivotal leadership role in many Starfleet struggles, particularly against the Romulans, Cardassians, and the Borg.  Although Picard considers his first duty the Prime Directive, he has crossed that line several times, relying on his own moral compass. Deanna Troi

Born March 29, 2336, near Lake El-Nar, Betazed

Commander Deanna Troi was the counselor on the U.S.S. Enterprise D. Half-Betazed and half-Human, she.has a limited form of the Betazoid ability to sense emotions and use telepathy. An empathic, intuitive,and.firm counciler, Troi helps the free with many difficult, psychological issues in exceedingly trying circumstances, and is often very useful in communicating with alien species and detecting falsehoods. She has a complicated  relationship with her strong willed Betazoid mother, Ambassador Lwaxana Troi, and married Will Riker in 2379.
