U.S.S. Enterprise-D. Born blind, La Forge wore a VISOR (Visual Instrument and Sensory Organ Replacement) which allowed him to receive visual information from the inferred and ultraviolet spectrums, although he later receives advanced ocular prosthetic implants. La Forge is a friendly, cooperative, and dedicated officer with a curious technological inventive and analytical mind that adapts quickly to unfamiliar predicaments.
