When Spock died saving the Enterprise and its crew from being destroyed by the Genesus Device, none of the survivor's had realized at the time that the Vulcan had transferred his Katra into frequent verbal sparring partner Dr. McCoy. And what no one could imagine was that the Genesus Devive would regenerate Spocks body so that the spirit and form could unite to cause his rebirth. The Enterprise command crew would take on a personal mission that saw them stealing their beloved ship and ultimately destroying it to bring their crewmate and friend back to them.
