StarTrek: The Next Generation: Spartacus

I began StarTrek: The Next Generation: Spartacus on January 23, 2019 and finished it on March 2, 2019. The book was by T. L. Macour and had 275 pages.

The Enterprise was stuck in a "Gabriel Effect," which was a phenomenon which wreaked havoc on the technologies. When they cleared the nebula they met up with the Freedom and Captain Jared. Riker was going to meet him with an engineering team to help repair their ship. Riker was on the Freedom.

The Freedom was a "Noah's Arc."

Geordi asked to bring Wesley aboard the Freedom to show him more about Star Drives. Freedom crew was very impressed  with Data. They asked for a Federation history. Someone on the Freedom was hurt and Geordi found out they were cybernetics. The Enterprise put out a dinner for their Freedom guests. The Freedom crew was beaming over to the Enterprise. Jerrod toasted to the Gods who made their paths cross. Picard found this a little odd.

After the Freedom crew dined and were back aboard the Freedom, the Enterprise got in contact by the Vindicator Fleet who claimed ownership of the Freedom.

The Vemlins were going to fight the androids not use battle drones.

Muram beamed over and gave Data the whole of the Androids soul on the Freedom.

"Every mission we find living examples of how the universe is not only stranger than we imagined, but that it's stranger than we can imagine. Yet the further we go and the stranger things become, the real impossibilities are happening all around us." Spartacus p. 167

"Life is too unique an attribute to be wasted in futile endeavors." Spartacus p. 171

The Vemlin androids were under Federation protection since they may becoming Federation citizens

They were talking about membership. Jerod had a bomb in his hand if it didn't go well.

"The universe is so diverse in its formation of life-forms that no true objective definition exists. The closest I could come to say is that life is a complex, reactive, self-replicating prossess that some entities possess. Some say the best way to define it is by its ultimate negative quality: "A living thing is a thing that can die."" Spartacus p. 214

"This question has many different aspects as well. There is a religious side--do androids have souls? I am not qualified to give an opinion on that. There is a psychological question--are androids self-aware and capable of conscious, sapient thought? Though I am trained in psychology,  it isn't my specialty and again I can't render an opinion. Then there is the biological issue. On that I am able to render an opinion." Spartacus p. 218

"Data and the other androids have been built in the shape of their creators. They have two hands, two feet, two eyes, a nose two ears, and an advanced electrical chemical processing system. Now in a human or humanoid form of life, I would say that you can artificially replace each and every biological part of a single body, with one exception, thus creating a cyborg or cybernetic organism and still class the individual as a living being. It isn't the veins, and the tissues and the cells that make it a sapient being, it's the one thing that cannot be replaced--the brain or analogous central system." Spartacus p. 219

Data took Swahili to the holodeck and then was stopped by the Romans and slaves talked with them after that Data told them that they were all crucified. The Vemlin Fleet was planning on taking out the Freedom/Conquest

The Spartacus Droids became members of the Federation. Data kissed Murray, the Spartacus ship librarian.

After reading this book, what I took away is that no matter what race, religion, ethnic, technological  background we come from we all strive to be understood and loved as a whole entity.

Geordi La Forge

A time-travel mission to defend the Federation from the Borg would allow La Forge to participate in the test flight of Zefram Cochrane's Phoenix, Earth's first warp capable ship."

Natasha Yar

Born November 24, 2237

Tasha Yar experienced an overwhelming amount of tragedy during her short life. Born on the failed Federation Colony on Turkana IV, Yar lost her parents as a child. She was forced to raise her younger sister in the horrific violence of the planet and its people. Yar managed to escape aa a teen, though her sister refused to leave with her, having accepted her place in society. Yar saw a new future for herself aa a StarFleet officer, rising to the level of security cheif on the Enterprise-D. Her life ended--tragically and senselessly--when she was murdered by an alien entity known as armus, who killed her simply because he could.

Dr. Beverly Crusher

Dr. Beverly Crusher

October 13, 2324

Dr. Beverly Crusher was raised by her grandmother who, while not a physician, was practiced in the use of herbal remedies. This proved valuable in treating the wounded following an incident at the Arvada III colony where they resided where they resided. With that basic training, Crusher went on to study medicine at StarFleet Medical, even taking command of the organization for a year in 2365. Crusher tragically lost her husband when their son, Wesley, was only five years old. She was forced to raise Wes on her own as she continued on different StarFleet postings. Most of Crusher's career was spent working under Captain Jean-Luc Picard as cheif medical officer on ships named Enterprise.

Blaze of Glory

This story is by Simon Hawke. It has 277 pages.

Deep in space you have more adventurers then you can count. Adventures on top of adventures. Startrek has its own unique way of narrating those adventures no matter the size and the time.

Riker was on the bridge and The Enterprise was on its way to Starbase 37 that orbited Artemis 6. This was the first time the Enterprise visited that sector. Riker hadn't been briefed about it since the Academy. It was constructed 37 years ago. He used Datas photographic memory to brief himself.

The residents are related to both Vulcans and Romulans. Gruzinov, the commander in charge of the starbase, was a friemd of Picard. He hadn't seen him in 20 years. Gruxinov was amazed how Data docked the ship. He invited them for a drink. His son is becoming the General in the war like his father was. He didn't get along with anyone, while his father was a pleasure to work with

An old starship, Glory, was being used for an unknown reason. Blaze is her captains name. Geordi said a complete refit to a Constitution class ship would take a very long time. The crew was on The Royal Palace of N'Trahn. The Enterprise was patrolling the sector for unidentified ships.

Lieutenant Dorn, a liason on the ship was all business, he had no sense of humor. She is very young and attractive, however she was lonely and had no friends. She was assisting in the repairs of The Wyoming, captained by Winslow Bryant. They surprisingly had no casualities. The Enterprise towed them. The attacking ship was surprisingly The Blaze.

The ship appeared as an old Constitution class Star Ship with a variety of species on it, Orion, Katralli and human. The odd thing was that they weren't friends at the time whuch meant this must have crossed some sort of time stream. The Katralli was a hybrid of human and Katralli.

Picard ordered Blazes surrender, but he wouldn't. The Enterprise is taking the Glory back to Starbase 39. They were going to make the Romulans go in and violete the neutral zone.

Data was in a holodeck of a sailing ship. Dorn asked Data what he was doing. Dorn was being considered for some undercover work. Picard, Dorn and other crew members went down to the planet
They all refused refreshments. Worf didn't like the smell of the garden when they all went out.

Captain Blaze got a cloaking device illegally.  T'grayn was a little rattled when Picard said he had an investigation team. Picard wanted to see Z'gral a hero in the K'tralli revolution but was denied because he was in poor health.

Troi sensed that was a lie. Their comm was open so the bridge heard that conversation. The govenor had a comm to the Romulans open as well. Blaze is the main reason the Federation is here. The governor was encouraging Z'gral to kill his father.

They all played eachother. Troi and Warf beamed down with a few security officers to be the investigators as Picard said he would have. Riker wasn't taken any weapons because if they were found the weapons blow their cover, because merchant spacers never carried weapons.

Stryker, who was the merchant, was giving Riker difficulties because he had a police record.

Deanna Troi

The half-Human, half-Betazoid counselor aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D was an empath able to sense the feelings of her patients and those engaged with her ships crew. This was particularly useful in the Enterprise crew's dealing wih alien lifeforms in diplomatic situations as well as times of conflict. Troi was especially sensitive to her Imzadi, a Betazoid term for "Beloved," which was reserved for first officer William Riker. The two wed shortly before their final mission together on the Enterprise-E and they were transferred to her husbands new command on the U.S.S. Titan.
